The latest Celebrity Apprentice proves that nice people win

I was rooting for Marlee Matlin and Terry was rooting for John Rich.

Academy or country

Between the two finalists it wasn’t an easy decision for The Donald to make. Both celebrities raised an extraordinary amount of money for their charities (Marlee Matlin for The Starkey Hearing Foundation and John Rich for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital) and they really stood out from the other contestants because they were both powerful and nice.

A strangely addictive program

Terry and I watch very little TV but part of the reason that we watch The Apprentice is the personalities at play. So much of what we cover as corporate image consultants in our business etiquette networking and image courses is demonstrated in each episode. Usually in a negative manner. The scenarios are quasi-business but it’s fascinating to watch the contestants interact with each other and with the Trumps.

The KLT factor

As we say in our seminars, people would rather do business with, hire and work with those that they know, like and trust. Over the course of this celebrity apprentice you could see that both finalists, Marlee Matlin and John Rich built plenty of know, like and trust with their teammates and also with the Trumps.

What goes around comes around

Marlee Matlin who is an Academy award winning actress who just happens to be deaf. From the very beginning she demonstrated a classy approach to the tasks and to the other contestants. She never resorted to the ego-tripping backstabbing shenanigans that many of the other celebrities exhibited. Click here to see a revealing short video profile of Marlee on the show.

Nice doesn’t mean you’re a pushover

Country singer John Rich also demonstrated class from start to finish. He and Marlee were nice but they were no pushovers. They were consummate professionals with good business etiquette who treated everyone with respect but got the job done. Anyone would be proud to work with them or work for them and they were great spokespersons for their charities. Click here to see a short video profile of John on the show.

The next generation of Trumps

The next generation of trumps aren’t doing so bad either. Over the various episodes it’s been fascinating to watch the younger Trumps take a more active role in the program. Say what you will about The Donald, he has raised at least two of his children to have good heads on their shoulders. Ivanka and Donald jr.both come across with integrity, business etiquette and class. Ivanka will be a businesswoman to watch in the future. Click here to see her line of beautiful shoes and handbags.

Are you a celebrity apprentice watcher?

Who did you think should have won? If you watched this last season, we would love to hear your opinion of the contestants and what you liked and didn’t like about their style. If you’ve never watched The Apprentice you need to check out this program. Full episodes are available at the following links. But a word of warning – we think you’ll find the program as addictive as we do.
