Corporate gifts? Personal gifts?

What do you get someone who has everything? My donkey ate your Christmas card!

What about a donkey?

It’s that time of year again, but let’s face it, don’t most of us have too much stuff already?

Joys R us

A couple of years ago our family agreed that instead of exchanging gifts we would make donations to some deserving charities.  So now we’ve expanded it to our client gifting.

There are so many organizations out there that can do with a helping hand (or donation).  We happen to make our donations to Oxfam through their “unwrapped” program. Oxfam Unwrapped is an on-line alternative giving program that offers a selection of life-changing gifts.

Personalize your gifts

In our etiquette seminars for business gifting we’ve always advocated getting to know your clients and colleagues so that you can give them a gift that is personalized and shows you know them, their tastes and interests.

Their favorite causes

But for the good of the planet consider letting your clients know that you care about them and the planet by making a donation to a worthy cause. It could be to a cause that you know they would support; if they are pet lovers it could be to your local animal shelter or if they are sports fans it could be to Right To Play. Follow your heart and your imagination to spread the joy around. (You can even do it for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays etc.)

Hope you enjoy your donkey

So this year as our way of saying thanks to you our readers, clients and friends, we bought you some donkeys and some chickens (along with some education programs for needy children). We hope you have enough room and they don’t make too much of a mess in your house.

Happy Holidays from Joanne and Terry!

  1. Thanks for the comment. Have you noticed that more people are donating to a charity as their business gifting? We seem to get more cards each year that indicate this fact. Gives a nice warm fuzzy feeling to us and the towards the sender and their organization.
