Great bosses and great colleagues recognize and acknowledge team members

Now you’ve got a chance to recognize them as… the Best Recognizer Ever.

You have only until Friday, October 5 to nominate someone who does a good job of letting others know they are appreciated for their contributions and achievements for the 2012 award as the Best Recognizer Ever.

Here come the judge

Our friend and fellow speaker/trainer Nelson Scott, author of Thanks! GREAT Job! has set up this contest. He’s asked me to be one of the judges and we’re looking forward to seeing all your nominations.

Who do you know that makes a difference?

It could be your boss, a former boss, a co-worker, or someone who you supervise. It may even be someone with whom you don’t work, but whose recognition practices you have observed or heard about from another. All that’s needed is for you to nominate this person for the award.Best Recognizers Acknowledge People

Boss’s Day is coming up

The Best Recognizer Ever award winner will be announced just prior to Boss’s Day-Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

High-value, low-cost staff recognition

In keeping with the spirit of high-value, low-cost staff recognition, the people we hope to hear about are those who use simple recognition to let others know they are appreciated for what they achieve and how they contribute. This award is not about organizing flashy, expensive events or running formal recognition programs.

Grrreatttttt!

When reviewing the nominations, the judges will have the acronym GREAT in mind. We want to hear about people who provide recognition that is Genuine, Relevant, Explicit, Appropriate and Timely.

Not getting enough recognition?

If you’re not getting enough recognition and acknowledgment at your workplace maybe it’s time you started acknowledging others. This is something we recommend in our business etiquette and Complete Professional seminars. What goes around, comes around. You might be next year’s winner and at the very least you’ll create a better work environment.
