A video with heart
I haven’t blogged for a week as I’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately but I received this article and video from a Fast Company newsletter that cheered me up. (Interestingly enough, it tied in with the philosophy of the terrific staff and company that we just worked with called Homesteader Health.)
Willie Nelson and Chipotle Restaurants
The video is about a fantastic fast food company called Chipotle, that we have previously mentioned in our blog “Tacos for a Business Lunch”. This warm and thought-provoking video (which is nominated for a Cannes film award) features Willie Nelson singing a haunting version of Coldplay’s song “The Scientist”.
A tough message to get across
It’s not easy to get across the message of the value of humane farming practices and socially conscious food choices, but I think you’ll find that this video works.
The host mentality
We talk a lot in our business etiquette and networking seminars about having the host mentality, which involves acting as an unofficial host in all your business and social interactions. We should also think of ourselves as unofficial hosts and stewards of our planet.
Are you a steward of the planet?
It’s great to see this video and Chipotle making a difference. Now it’s up to us vote with our dollars to support companies like this and make our own personal changes to help the planet even when we’re dining in and out. “Live simply so more can simply live.” Support your locally produced and humanely raised food products. Together we can all cultivate a better world.

And thanks to the Homesteader Health team for hosting us and the planet so well in Northern Alberta and BC.
