Are you making some time for yourself? Taking the time to refresh and Dancing at Christmas in Novemberrecharge your batteries?  This year has been a little hectic with business, family and my aging parents and I’m sure many of you can relate to that. So at times I’ve neglected to take time for myself and do some fun ‘girl friend’ outings.

ABBA to the Rescue

This year for some strange reason my recharging moments have focused around ABBA. You remember the Swedish pop group from the 70’s. This spring I saw the Mamma Mia movie with Meryl Streep (or should I say starring Meryl, I didn’t actually go with her) – a real feel good movie that cleared away the winter blahs and kept me humming ABBA tunes for weeks. Then this summer Terry got us tickets to see Almost ABBA – a tribute group that was just fantastic and kept us on our feet as a Dancing Queen (and Terry a Dancing King?).

Mamma Mia

Then a week ago my aunt invited me along with four other women for a girls night out to see Mamma Mia! Live on stage. Wow! At each of these Abba events I networked and met other women (and some men) who were cutting loose and taking some time for themselves to remind themselves to enjoy life and each other.

Another ABBA Connection

That reminded me of why I am so looking forward to Christmas in November at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. I associate the good times there with ABBA music. The band that played there nightly after dinner got the biggest response on the dance floor when they played ABBA. All those great fun women (and a few guys) shaking their booty and forming conga lines to Waterloo and Does Your Mother Know.

Super Trouper

Last year was my first time participating at Christmas in November and I was blown away. I had such a great time presenting my fashion advice segment, attending the other engaging presentations and meeting and networking and dancing with so many other fabulous women of all ages.

The Name of the Game –  Refresh

This year the theme at Christmas in November is refresh. And that’s exactly what it does. They’ve added new presenters, interactive programming, and a much anticipated addition of the new Fairmont Spa to make it a wonderfully refreshing and invigorating experience. Click here for this year’s celebrity line up and to register.  There are still some two and three night packages available that include room, meals, entertainment, wine and all the instructive demonstrations and presentations (and all the fun you can handle).

Knowing You, Knowing Me

It’s a glorious chance to discover the latest tips and trends to help freshen up the art of entertaining, cooking, decorating and fashion to ensure a fabulous and hassle-free holiday season.
But more importantly, it’s what it does for your spirit as you network, connect and reconnect with like-minded women. You learn a little bit more about yourself as you share your stories, passions and experiences with other women. As ABBA would say, it’s all about… knowing you, knowing me.

Take a Chance on Me

I so look forward to seeing you there and I hope you choose to take a chance on me and take in my fashion presentation from the huge selection of choices of what to attend. If I don’t see you in my session, I’ll be sure to see you at dinner and on the dance floor. Does your mother know? You may want to invite her or your daughter or some girl friends (or bring a man to keep Terry company). Click here to see photos from last year’s Christmas in November bash
