Ahhh, summertime and the living is easy. Or should that be “summertime and the clothing is cheezy” ?

I was chatting with the female CEO of a large Canadian corporation who shared her most embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. She attends many gala events and at one particular function she wore a brand new slim fitting, sleek ‘mermaid’ style dress. She was feeling pretty glamorous right up until the malfunction.
While seated for dinner she suddenly felt cold. She reached around to touch the back of her dress and instead her finger tips touched skin. Uh-oh! To her horror, her zipper hadn’t just come unzipped,
I received a request from a newsletter subscriber asking me to critique four photos that she was hoping to narrow down to one for her professional LinkedIn profile. As a corporate image consultant, when I saw them, I cringed.
Two photos were full body shots where you couldn’t really make out her face, so those weren’t good. The other two were head shots; but in one she was very serious (which made her seem cold and standoffish) and in the other she was looking up and away from the camera (like she was trying to remember something).

I just finished reading a cheeky book How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits written by four French girlfriends who currently live or have lived in Paris. They live life large. Their experiences are a moveable feast that you can take with you wherever you go. (Links to Canadian Amazon and US Amazon at the bottom)
From fashion clothing, to conversation, food and affairs. It’s funny, frank and sometimes outrageous. It’s full of contradictions, but I guess that’s what makes Parisian women endearing – you can’t pigeon-hole them.

Parisian women on –
I was doing an image update for one of my female executive presence coaching clients. She works as a financial advisor in a male dominated industry and has typically worn suits to work. While suiting helps her project professionalism and polish, she wanted other options for the office. I suggested adding some dresses to the mix.
While doing a pre-shop for her, I was thrilled to see so much colour and variety in the stores. But as I was going through the racks I noticed that the majority of dresses were sleeveless dresses. Uh-oh!
